Seven-time NASCAR® champion Jimmie Johnson will be racing to honor U.S. Army Sgt. Richard (Rick) Donlan of
Hampton, Va. as part of the NASCAR® Industry’s 600 Miles of Remembrance program at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
On May 26, Johnson’s No. 48 Ally Chevrolet Camaro will feature Donlan’s name on the front windshield header.
Donlan was born on Jan. 3, 1946 and died in combat on Feb. 28, 1969 in the Binh Thuan province of Vietnam. He
was part of the 506th infantry, 101st Airborne and deployed to Vietnam in 1968. He is buried in Arlington National
Cemetery.
As part of the tribute, Johnson’s No. 48 Ally Chevrolet Camaro will also be wrapped in “MultiCam” – a camouflage
pattern used by the United States military in a wide range of environments.
Now the official die-cast of Johnson’s Ally Patriotic Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is available to order from Lionel Racing.
Each 1:24-scale car is being offered in two different trim levels – an Action Racing Collectables (ARC) hood-open
model and also a fully die-cast ELITE version that features an opening hood and trunk. A 1:64-scale die-cast is also
